Wow, after almost a year of thinking and planning, it’s almost here and I wonder about some of the life choices I make…..like going to Rio de Janeiro on my own!!
Yeah I forgot this was South America until after I’d made the decision and booked a whole stack of flights but it’s not like I haven’t travelled on my own before. I’m not entirely stupid, I’ll be fine. Not sure who I’m trying convince there!
I’m finally getting back to South America. The goal was always to go to Rio (preferably for carnival) but then I saw photos of the beach parties at Rio during carnival and there hundreds of thousands of people. I took one look and went – uhuh not for me. And of course, to get to Patagonia.
So this trip is Rio de Janeiro, Iguazu Falls, Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, El Calafate, El Chalten, back to El Calafate for a day, back to Buenos Aires overnight and then to Montevideo in Uruguay. 32 days in total.
